        • Accreditation Concepts and Scope

          IABEE accreditation is an international-level accreditation. The scope of IABEE accreditation includes engineering and computing programs at undergraduate level that award a Bachelor's degree with a 4-year academic study and a minimum total load of 144 credits. Programs seeking for IABEE accreditation must have implemented an Outcome-based Education System.

        • Accreditation Types and Eligibility

          IABEE offers two types of accreditation, namely General Accreditation and Provisional Accreditation. Each accreditation type entails specific eligibility requirements for programs to apply.

          General Accreditation (GA) is intended for programs seeking international recognition through IABEE accreditation. Meanwhile, Provisional Accreditation (PA) is intended for programs newly adopting an outcome-based education system and have not yet produced graduates under the system. A program applying for PA will be evaluated to measure its potentials of meeting the Accreditation Criteria within a foreseeable future.

      • Accreditation Criteria
        • Accreditation Criteria adopted by IABEE follow an outcome-based accreditation model which ensures the students achieve certain learning outcomes (knowledge, skill, and attitudes) needed to the practice of engineering profession upon graduation.

          Accreditation Criteria consists of Common Criteria, its elaboration in Criteria Guide, and Discipline Criteria.

          Common Criteria are composed with the intention of assuring the quality of education and to foster a systematic continual quality improvement that satisfies the need of its constituencies in a dynamic and competitive environment. Meanwhile, Discipline Criteria provide specific requirements in the area of curricular topics and faculty qualifications for the interpretation of the baccalaureate level as applicable to a given discipline.

      • Evaluation Process
        • Evaluation Process of Accreditation

          Applying program will be firstly checked for its eligibility, after which it is required to submit Self Evaluation Report and Program Profile documents through IABEE Online Evaluation System. Evaluation process begins with a desk evaluation of the submitted documents. Additional information may be requested for a better clarity. On-site visit will subsequently be conducted to portray actual practices and verify all submitted information to ensure its compliance with the Accreditation Criteria and the Rules and Procedures of Evaluation and Accreditation (RPEA).

      • Accreditation Decision
        • For General Accreditation

          Final accreditation decision of a program evaluated under General Accreditation could either be "Accredited". "Accredited with Interim Evaluation without Visit", "Accredited with Interim Evaluation with Visit", or "Not Accredited".

          For Provisional Accreditation

          Final accreditation decision of a program evaluated under Provisional Accreditation could either be "Provisionally Accredited" or "Not Accredited".

          To be accredited, a program must meet all requirements stipulated by the Accreditation Criteria and the Rules and Procedures for Evaluation and Accreditation (RPEA). Further detailed information on Accreditation Decisions and the follow-up actions is provided in the RPEA.

      • Evaluation & Accreditation Documents
        • The following documents are provided for programs interested to apply for an IABEE Accreditation: Accreditation Criteria, Rules and Procedures for Evaluation and Accreditation (RPEA), Rules and Procedures for Accreditation-related Committees (RPARC), Program Profile template, and Self Evaluation Report template (for exercise purposes only).

          The programs should study these documents thoroughly and carefully for a successful evaluation process of accreditation.

  • Seminars & Training
      • Awareness Seminar
        • Awareness Seminar

          IABEE conducts Awareness Seminar annually and for free in several major cities aiming at disseminating Outcome-based Education concepts as well as introducing IABEE Accreditation criteria and procedures to program operating institutions. This seminar is supported by the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education (MoRTHE) and the Institution of Engineers Indonesia (PII).

          For 2019, Awareness Seminars are to be conducted in Jakarta, Surabaya, and Palembang. Further details are provided here.

      • Evaluator-candidate Training
        • Training for Evaluator-candidates

          To become a program evaluator (PEV), one must undergo a series of training programs, namely: Modular Online Training, Face-to-Face Training, and Observation in an On-Site Evaluation. Participation in IABEE Awareness Seminar is an advantage. Having adequate evaluation experience gained from the training series, a PEV-candidate is expected to have the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to conduct program evaluation: technically current, inter-personally skilled, team-oriented, professional, and organized.

      • Program Support
        • Programs intending to implement an Outcome-based Education system (not limited to programs in engineering or computing fields) may wish to participate in a series of comprehensive training provided by the Institution of Engineers Indonesia (PII). The 4-day training will cover essential materials to enable a program to properly define the educational objectives and learning outcomes, design the curriculum and learning outcome assessment plan, as well as conduct continual improvement management based on learning outcome evaluation. The training is to be offered in two different cities independently, i.e. Jakarta and Yogyakarta.
